Sessions are provided by appointment, in person, or through online telehealth video conferencing.

MY PRACTICE
Educational Background
In 2002, I graduated from Henderson State University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas with a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling. My Bachelor’s Degree was also obtained at Henderson State University in Psychology with a minor in Communications. I am currently licensed by the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and hold a specializations in Technology Assisted Counseling.
Professional Work
I have worked in the field of helping relationships since 1996. I was licensed as a therapist in July of 2002 and have worked in a variety of settings. My work includes private practice, school related services, residential services, hospitals and outpatient clinics. My primary work experience is with children and adolescents in a school, residential or private setting as well as adults receiving outpatient counseling services.
Availability of Services and Emergency Contact
My office hours are held by appointment both in person and via telemental health-online therapy sessions. Should you need to reschedule or cancel, please call or email me with at least 24 hours advanced notice. My 24 hour emergency contact number is 870-484-3938.
Confidentiality
I will not disclose information expect under the following circumstances:
You sign a release of information so I may disclose information to another party. This is usually necessary in court ordered cases.
Duty to Warn in the event you are a harm to self or others.
Child and elderly abuse. I AM A MANDATED REPORTER REQUIRED BY THE STATE OF ARKANSAS to report child and elderly abuse.
My incapacitation or death. (The Arkansas Board of Examiners have on file a therapist to contact you in the event of my death or incapacitation).
Disclosure for claims processing, treatment utilization or third party for reimbursement.
The Counseling Relationship
The counseling relationship is a professional relationship not a personal relationship. I follow the ethics regulated by the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling. It is unethical for me to have a personal relationship with my clients. Living in a small town, frequently seeing one another in public, social media, text messaging and multiple other things which can cloud boundaries and present HIPAA violations can be frustrating for both myself and my clients.
Please know that the boundaries associated with the counseling relationship are in place to help protect your confidentiality and the professionalism in our roles.

CIndy's primary approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered Counseling.
Cindy's office is located in a very private rustic setting in Sheridan, Arkansas. Cindy works with most all populations through the lifespan. Sessions are by appointment.

The Zur Institute defines Telemental health as "the use of telecommunications technology to provide mental health services. It includes everything from telephones to texting to videoconferencing."
Cindy only uses online text through encrypted email. Cell phone text messaging is not encouraged in her practice.
Special groups and workshops are occasionally provided upon request in schools, churches or other organizations interested in improving relationships, communication skills or broadening knowledge on mental health topics.
